Balancing Life as a Single Mom and Virtual Assistant: How I Found the Freedom to Be There for What Matters Most

Being a single mom is a full-time job in itself. But when you’re trying to balance that with working, running errands, and managing life’s endless responsibilities, it can feel impossible to have time for anything else—especially yourself. For years, I struggled to find the right balance, feeling like I was constantly falling short in some area of my life. Then, virtual assistance changed everything.

Finding Flexibility as a Single Mom

As a single mom, my daughter’s activities are a huge part of my life. From cheer practice to dance rehearsals, I wanted to be the mom who was always there—cheering her on from the sidelines, supporting her dreams just like I wanted to pursue mine. But working a traditional job made that difficult. I found myself missing out on precious moments because I had to stick to a rigid schedule. And it wasn’t just about my daughter; I wanted more time to spend with my nieces, nephews, and my family as a whole.

When I became a virtual assistant, everything changed. Suddenly, I had the flexibility to set my own hours and work around my daughter’s schedule. I didn’t have to choose between making a living and being there for the most important parts of her life. Whether it’s driving her to cheer practice or sitting front row at her dance recitals, I’m fully present—and that’s priceless.

Managing Chronic Illness with Ease

Another huge challenge I’ve faced is living with chronic illnesses. Before, doctor’s appointments felt like a burden. I was constantly juggling time off requests and trying to make sure my work didn’t fall behind while I took care of my health. The stress was overwhelming.

But now, as a virtual assistant, I don’t have to worry about fitting my health into someone else’s schedule. If I need to see a doctor or go for a check-up, I can simply adjust my work hours. No guilt, no stress—just peace of mind knowing I can take care of myself while still running my business.

Prioritizing Self-Care

Another huge benefit? I finally have time for self-care. I’ve always wanted to stay active and take care of my body, but when you’re juggling work and family as a single mom, things like pilates classes or time to unwind often take a backseat. Now, I can make space in my day to attend pilates, move my body, and stay healthy—physically and mentally. Having the freedom to do something for myself has been life-changing.

Traveling to See Family and Creating Memories

One of my greatest passions is traveling, especially to see my family in Europe. Before I became a virtual assistant, finding time for travel was almost impossible. It was a constant struggle to get enough time off, and even then, it was hard to fully enjoy the trip knowing I’d come back to a mountain of work.

Now, I can travel whenever I want. Whether it’s spending quality time with family in Europe or simply getting away for a weekend with my daughter, I can bring my work with me and still enjoy the moments that matter most. The freedom to work from anywhere has given me the ability to prioritize family time and make unforgettable memories.

Empowering Other Moms to Take Control

As a single mom and virtual assistant, I’ve found the perfect balance between building my career and being present for my family. I’m passionate about helping other moms realize that it’s possible to have a career that gives you both flexibility and financial stability. You don’t have to choose between being a great mom and having a fulfilling career—you can have both.

Whether it’s taking your kids to practice, attending doctor’s appointments without the stress, or traveling to visit family whenever you want, virtual assistance gives you the freedom to design a life that works for you.

If I can do it, so can you. Let’s build a future where you’re in control of your time, your health, and your happiness.
